Product Description

Regimental quartermaster-sergeants wore four chevrons on the lower sleeve, point upwards, with an eight pointed star above, but adopted the crown when they too became warrant officers class II in 1915. In their case, however, the crown was surrounded by a wreath. Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS) is an appointment held by a senior Warrant Officer Class 2 in the British Army and Commonwealth countries. Some units have more than one RQMS. RQMS was a separate rank until 1915, when it became a Warrant Officer appointment with the creation of Warrant Officers Class II. From 1938 to 1947 all WOII ranks wore the crown in wreath rank now worn by Regimental Quartermaster Sergeants.

The Caribbean Cadet Forces have adopted the British Army rank system and this RQMS rank insignia is no exception. The metal crown with wreath is made from brass or gold. It has a double shank with split pin fitting and brass base plate that keeps it in place and it is worn with a leather wrist band.

Here at Active Gear Limited, you can choose to buy this metal crown with wreath with or without the leather wrist band. We also have the embroidered crown with wreath which comes with a khaki backing and is worn with cloth wrist band. Apart from this embroidered one, we also supply the embroidered crown with wreath which is worn with the Number 1 dress (Ceremonial Dress) and the Mess Dress; this embroidered crown with wreath is worn on the lower sleeve of both type of uniform and comes with a scarlet and navy bluebacking. Additional to those mentioned above we have what the British Army  call ‘a combat helmet patch’ or a ‘rank patch’; of which, in the Caribbean cadet forces call a ‘rank patch’ of the RQMS insignia that is sown on a cloth wrist band and worn with training and operational uniforms in the different forces. These patches are black embroidered on olive green with a band edge.
